Super bowl party..good foods?
So we are all gathering at my sister’s house for the super bowl and I have no idea what to take. I need something that isn’t going to be really costly and will also go a long way. I think sheis expecting no more than 20 guests. What should I make? One idea I had was meatballs, but I’m not sure. Thanks for any suggestions.

Tostitos pizza fruit tray shrimp chips popcorn
Please do not take tostinos pizza lol. Meatballs would be good, some other ideas:
Cocktail weiners in sauce (bbq/grape jelly/chili sauce you can google how to do sauce)
Velveeta Rotel dip w/ tortilla chips
batch of cookies and a batch of brownies
pre-made fruit or fruit/cheese tray from grocery or make one yourself
finger sandwiches (chicken salad, poppyseed ham/cheese (mmm))
ramen noodle coleslaw (google recipe, you can put chicken in it if you like)
cupcakes from box mix decorated w/ team colors
anything that is simple yet yummy. Local Walmart foods, would be good. (:
BEER! I guess that’s a given. . .
We always do a baron of beef on a bun served with hot au jus. It’s easy to prepare ahead before company arrives too. It’s become a tradition in my house for sporting events. Lots of chips as a side dish. I’ll sometimes do a huge pot of chili instead. It’s easy to keep warm on the stove. I’ll do garlic toast for that. It’s pretty well self serve otherwise though.
As far as appy’s go, I love chicken wings, meatballs, chicken fingers, dry garlic ribs, nachos and homemade guacamole, potato skins with cheese and bacon don’t forget sour cream. Man, I could go on and on.
Taco bar (make taco meat, have bowls with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, avocado, refried beans, sour cream, ect. and have everyone make their own tacos whenever they want).
i would make a big pot of chili and bring corn chips with it, and a side of sour cream, grated cheese, guacamole or a salsa, or some marinated maybe honey soy or bbq wings, or some sausages u can cook off and make hot dogs, or maybe u can make burgers. chicken pieces baked served with a salad
OK. . . so you don’t want anything really costly. . . . so how about making a layered pizza dip and bring bagel chips or bagel crisps to go along with it: For 20 ppl. . . You can also make ham roll-ups: take a deli ham slice, spread with cream cheese and add a small pickle and roll up
You can always add some deviled eggs or stuffed mushroom caps.
Pulled pork sandwiches if you really want to go all out
Cocktail meatballs. . . . if you choose to get frozen (I prefer making my own, they taste better), but get the ones from Walmart in red, white, and green bag. . . . they don’t have the nasty “aftertaste” that other brands have. Anyway: for the sauce, use
1 12 0z can or bottle of beer per (per pound of ground beef. . . can probably stretch to 1 1/2 lbs).
I usually double the sauce recipe and add the meatballs to simmer a good hour and longer (do in a crockpot and leave on low for as long as you need to. . . the longer they sit, the better it tastes).
If you want to make your own: maybe get about 30 small cocktail size or less if making larger (I always do 2 lbs + at least when I make these)>here’s the formula for each 1 lb. ground beef used:
1/2 cup bread crumbs (seasoned or not, it’s your choice)
May need a tablespoon or so of water to mixture to make it pliable enough to roll into meatballs. . . 1 1/2 in size is good.
Place them on foil-lined baking sheet (for easy clean up) and bake 375^F for about 20 minutes til browned. . . pick up with slotted spoon and put them into the sauce and simmer. Serve w/toothpicks nearby.
These are always a hit at my parties and have passed out the recipe to others and everyone likes the taste of the “beer and ketchup” sauce.
